June 2020

Welcome to my monthly update.

The past few weeks I was on vacation in Europe. Hence the backlog on my blog.

What struck me during the holidays was the difference in Corona measures. One country masks in the shops, stations and even in the sanitary areas on the campsites. The next country only face masks in public areas and a country further no mouth masks, not in supermarkets, not at the campsite and not in public transport.

What I also noticed is that the tourists are mainly domestic tourists. Camping’s overcrowded and no Corona seemed to be in the air. Now a week and a half later, major outbreaks again in various European countries.

Covid-19 no longer exists for share prices. However, the reality is different and as we move towards the fall this will only become clearer. In May I sold most shares with a nice return (a little too early as it turns out now).

I held a number of sectors and even bought other sectors considerably. Hydrogen related companies are still in the portfolio, in addition to raw materials related companies around Lithium, Vanadium and Uranium.

Companies whose stock prices are far ahead of expected returns are out. I prefer to invest in companies whose costs remain the same and the end product only increases in value, such as gold and silver mines. Time will tell if this was a good choice, but with so much money creation, my confidence in our financial system is waning by the day.

On the peer-to-peer front, the situation seems to be calming down a bit but returns are still very unstable. As unemployment rises, the number of defaults will increase sharply. The question is how the platforms will survive. I am still winding down some positions until the p2p climate becomes more positive again. For the time being still a loss of more then €1.600 euros. I expect to see positive numbers again somewhere around the end of next year, if at least not too many platforms fall over. I look below the line for my investments, I try to compensate for the losses in the P2P segment with my other investments.

Monthly return for June 2020 was €218. Total result is –€1.643

bulkestate

One investment this month in a 15% project

Return for June 2020 was only €0,75 As shown in the graph, most projects only pay interest at the end of their term.

crowdestate

No investments this month. The number of loans with issues are stable at the moment.

Return for June 2020 was €18.39 and again higher then last month.

crowdestor

Crowdestor announced that some of their project are to be completed in the next couple of weeks. They show up in the graph below. Most of the other loans are still in recovery mode.

Return for June 2020 due to this Recovery Period was €1.25

crowdrealestate

Invested in another one of their projects in Amsterdam for a 5% return.

Return for June 2020 was €23,74. Same as last month and pretty stable so far.

estateguru

Two projects completed in June 2020 and received the invested amount plus interest. Re-invested in four new projects with an interest rates of 10-14% spread over four countries.

Return for June 2020 was €5,37, a lot lower then last month. Many project don’t have a monthly return schedule so the returns in this platform are lower on a monthly base.

evoestate

No investments this months, as no interesting projects were listed.

Return for June 2020 was on the low side at €6,61. Many rental projects (mainly airbnb) did’nt pay interest in the month of June due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also takes a while before real estate projects start seeing return. The next couple of months I hope to see higher returns.

fastinvest

Return for June 2020 was only €0,20 for the euro en polish zÅ‚oty portfolio combined. Fastinvest completely stopped returning interest for the last couple of weeks. That’s not a good sign. Also withdrawals take many weeks to return. I lowered my stake in Fastinvest a couple of months ago so the damage is manageable.

grupeer

For the moment all payments to investors of Grupeer are currently suspended (like Crowdestor, Monethera and Wisefund), but in case of Grupeer a couple of their loan originators don’t have license to lend out money as it appears in several Telegram groups. The last couple of weeks communication is frequent and responses to e-mails are fast. But so far a lot of words and no action, no money in the bank still. I’ve completed my KYC so in theory when the money is released I can withdrew it to my bank account. But like I said in theory.

As long as the website up-and-running, I will not write off Grupeer and include the results in my weekly and monthly overviews. However, I am not very positive about the outcome.

Return for June 2020 was not surprisingly €0.

housers

Four projects completed in June. I withdrew €500, the money was deposited in a couple of days. No re-investments as the net gain (after taxes and platform cost) are to low. The last couple of months more and more projects are delayed. The good thing is that as an investor we can vote on the proposal made by a developer in a ‘Lenders Meeting’ for a new payment schedule. The bad thing is the number of “Lenders Meetings’ are rising. So far I received all the payments.

Return forJune 2020 was only €9,97 (this is after tax and the housers fee). These extra costs take a big chunk out of the profits. I will try to deduct tax within my own country.

lender & spender

For Lender & Spender I choose to pay out the redemption to my bank account instead of reinvesting. As this platform is also supervised by the Dutch Financial Markets Authority I will probably increase my investments the next couple of months despite the lower returns (4.0%)

Return for June 2020 was €5,64

lenndy

Return for June 2020 was €7,39 and back to normal again.

mintos

My favorite platform so far due to the number of loan originators, the extensive auto-invest features and the good interest rates, although they fluctuate month-by-month. Interest rates are falling again.

Return for June 2020 was a stable €109.61 for the euro and russian ruble portfolio combined and pretty stable for now.

monethera

Monethera announced a temporary complete cessation of the work of their platform. It is not looking good. Monethera was previously the subject of conversation on Telegram (and not in the positive). Chances are very high that this platform is also subject to fraud and the might file for bankrupcy

As long as the website is up and running, Monethera will remain in my weekly and monthly overviews. But I also expect to write off this platform within a few weeks.

Return for June 2020 was as expected €0

peerberry

Another one of my favorite platforms with an average yearly return of 12.09%.

Return for June 2020 was €4.4 and much lower then last month.

for more info on investments see my peerberry journeys section

reinvest24

No new project this month.

Return for June 2020 was €7,66 as part one of their projects completed with a nice return. Many project don’t have a monthly return schedule so the returns in this platform are lower on a monthly base.

for more info on investments see my reinvest24 journey section

robocash

Return for June 2020 was €7.71, much lower then last month

for more info on investments see my robocash journey section

swaper

Still going steady with a average yearly return of 11.7%.

Return for June 2020 was €9,13, same as last month

for more info on investments see my swaper journeys section

wisefund

Wisefund is also subject to criticism on Telegram. For now the platform is holding just not paying any interest (like Crowdestor, Grupeer and Monethera)

Return for June 2020 was €0 ,
